MDI & AI

Designing and developing sustainable solutions with modular and artificial intelligence

Our fields of work and disciplines are constantly evolving with new technologies and design principles to improve our built environment. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the design process is a promising development that will revolutionize the way we create buildings and cities, especially when combined with modular design principles. This can lead to better, healthier, and more sustainable environments for everyone.

Modular Design Intelligence

Designing and developing with modular systems is called Modular Design Intelligence (MDI). Applying MDI offers numerous benefits, such as efficiency, faster design processes, risk and cost control, and sustainability. There is a clear shift from traditional project thinking to product thinking, which makes developments more scalable, sustainable, and innovative.

Artificial Intelligence

In addition, we use various leading artificial intelligence platforms within Aemsen. This includes intuitive, cloud-based AI software that enables us to create high-quality designs for locations using generative and parametric design methods. In our studio, we combine this software with AI-driven tools that generate images based on prompts, providing inspiration and insights into opportunities and possibilities. This allows for the right sustainable choices to be made early in the development and design process.

Attractive and Healthy Living Environment

By using biobased 2D and 3D elements and modules in the design and development of buildings, an attractive and healthy living environment can be created for different people, plants, and animals. Moreover, biodiversity is brought back into the built environment, which fits perfectly with the modular approach that strives for optimal sustainability in terms of circularity, energy, and nature inclusivity
